Vocation

Vocation is feeling through the dark. There is too much meaningful work to give yourself to and only one life—a professor, a hospital chaplain, an exercise instructor, a writer, a listener. For most of your twenties you’re fragmented, floating between different rooms in the same house. But in your late-twenties you finally open the doors to these separate rooms. You let the hallway flood. There it is.
